A sweet prasadam for Navarathri, unique & different from the regular "savory" sundal varieties.
Sweet ellu podi is usually prepared on Saturdays, as sesame seeds is the preferred offerings for Sani Bhagavan (Saturn God, one of the Navagrahas).

Serves - 3/4 cup
Ingredients
Black sesame seeds - 1/2 cup
Grated jaggery - 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder - 3 big pinches
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Method
Wash & soak sesame seeds in water for 30 mins.
Drain sesame seeds off water and fry in a dry pan until the sesame seeds stop crackling.
Let it cool completely and grind it into fine powder along with grated jaggery & cardamom powder.
Finally add a tbsp of ghee and give it a good mix.
Sweet ellu podi is ready for neivedhyam!
