Sweet Potato Roti

The first thing that you'll notice about the sweet-potato roti is that they are super soft & chewy. And of-course, goes without saying, these rotis are slightly on the sweeter side due to the nature of the vegetable.

Oats Porridge (Savory)

This is such a simple & healthy breakfast recipe loaded with lot of flavors. I adapted this recipe from Rak's Kitchen, but have replaced coconut milk in her recipe with plain buttermilk.

In the recent times, demand for oats all over the world is on the rise due to its increasing popularity as a health/fitness food. Even traditional breakfast items like idli, dosa, pongal etc is getting a new makeover with this oats boom. This recipe of savory oats porridge is almost instant & effective for your busy mornings.

Have you ever stepped into a road-side tea shop for a cup of tea and ended up having a plateful of hot & crispy masal vadai?! Well, its nothing unusual! When it comes to "tea-kadai" masal vadai, even a "hygiene freak" will think about quitting the club and enjoy the street food! The delicious smell of frying onions, crispy vada with a hot cup of tea, catching up on a hot topic with friends... the best combo ever!!!

Kozhukattai

Kozhukattai is the favorite prasadam of Lord Ganesha, the elephant faced God in Hindu mythology. Kozhukattai is usually prepared and offered during Ganesh Chathurthi (a festival celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha). Kozhukattai is very similar to rice dumplings; steamed with two kinds of fillings, sweet & savory. Personally, I like sweet kozhukattai than the savory ones. Making kozhukattai needs a lot of prep work and hence, considered to be complex & time-consuming.

Milagai Podi

A spicy south-Indian condiment that pairs up so well with idli/dosa.

Paasi Paruppu Payasam

While browsing, I stumbled upon a web-page that had few pictures which looked very similar to my kinda shots. A close second look at them and I realized that those pics were indeed mine. Yes, somebody had copied images & contents of about 8-10 recipes from my blog and posted them in theirs. No notification, No credits, No nothing!

Vella Seedai

Vella Seedai is the sweeter counterpart of uppu seedai, usually made for Gokulashtami (celebration of Lord Krishna's Birthday). Unlike uppu seedai, these sweet marbles are hard & crunchy on the out-side, but soft & sweet on the inside. Of all the Gokulashtami snacks that my mom makes, vella seedai is my all-time favorite. Vella seedai usually tastes great from the next day.

Uppu Seedai

"Do you really have to try it?" is the first question that my mom asked when I asked her the recipe for seedai. Seedai, a crunchy south-Indian savory snack not only look like "little bombs" but act like one too. Yes, seedai is so notorious for exploding in the oil while frying, for various reasons. With few tricks up your sleeve, you can avoid the big mess that these little bombs are known to create.

Gobi Paratha

Another healthy, wholesome paratha from the state of Punjab! A popular North-Indian breakfast, gobi parathas are very tasty and filling too. A simple side of raitha/pickle is usually enough as the stuffing itself is hearty & satisfying!
