A tasty & healthy condiment that can be served with any south Indian breakfast items.

Ingredients
Peanuts - 1 cup
Onion - 1 no (small, roughly chopped)
Whole urad dal - 1 tbsp
Dry red chillies - 5-6 nos
Tamarind - 3/4 tbsp, a small piece
Curry leaves - 4-5 nos
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Method
Soak tamarind in hot water (for easier handling) and set aside.
Roast whole urad dal & dry red chillies in 1/2 tsp of oil until urad dal is golden brown. Add onion and saute until translucent. Keep it aside and let it cool completely.
If using raw peanuts, dry roast them in a pan until peanuts are crisp & golden brown. Keep it aside and let it cool completely.
Blend all of the ingredients (roasted peanuts, saute'ed onion, fried dry red chillies & urad dal, tamarind, salt) into a thick & fine paste with less water.
Splutter mustard seeds & curry leaves in rest of the oil and mix it with the chutney.
